Northmoor Trust

Work commences at Radley Lakes

12th March 2010

Northmoor Trust are progressing with their plans to take over Sandles and Thrupp Lake on contract from NPower.  Contracts are in the final stages, waiting agreement on certain points, with signatures awaited imminently.

At the beginning of March, Northmoor Trust invited people and organisations in the locality to join them on Friday 12th March 2010 at Sandles to make a start on clearing the site.

An estimated 30 people were on site over the course of the day to lend a hand under the direction of Melati Granucci, who has been appointed by Northmoor Trust to co-ordinate local volunteers for various projects.

It had been planned to build a shelter on site, which would have give much needed shelter to volunteers during meal breaks, as the weather did turn very wet during the day.  However, having been told no planning permission was required, the Vale of White Horse retracted that statement and requested that full planning permission be applied for, which will take about three months to obtain.

Northmoor Trust are planning further working parties at the site and further details will appear on this website and Radley Village Website.
