Creator of Inspector Morse
The sixty four diners who came together at Radley Colleve on Saturday 18th October were not disappointed with the food, which was excellent and provided by Wells Stores, and everyone was highly amused with the anecdotes from Colin Dexter going back over his writing career, and in particular his involvement with the Morse TV Series which everyone recognises. The audience listened with rapt attention - it was a pleasure to listen to Colin Dexter who was so very very interesting, self deprecating, and extremely entertaining.
Mr Dexter gave his time free of charge to come and speak to the assembled company, recalling of the time when he first heard of NPower's plans and his initial response that they should not be allowed to dump the ash. He felt optimistic for the future of the Campaign and commended those members of the Campaign who had worked so long and hard in the battle to save Thrupp Lake.
After dinner, Mr Dexter signed books which were on sale via "Mostly Books" in Abingdon.
Thanks to everyone who participated.
