SAVE RADLEY LAKES SUPPORTERS TURN OUT IN FORCE
17th December 2005
The mighty publicity machine of Save Radley Lakes succeeded in bringing many supporters and customers to our Bazaar in Oxford on the 17th December.
As usual, a magnificent array of home made cakes, jams, chutneys and preserves were on sale from the kitchens of our many loyal supporters. The seasonal produce sold out it next to no time, along with the delicious fairy cakes and Victoria Sandwich Cakes which were delicious.
The catering team were competing with CostolottaCoffee down the road with fresh ground coffee served for a fraction of the price.
The Water Vole put in an appearance, but sadly was evicted from the Westgate Centre but as a result of Vole's sortie round the town, a record number of people came to see what was on offer.
The wealth of goods donated was amazing. Brand new gifts and jewellery, books and toys. The tombola and the lucky dip had some mystery prizes for old and young.
The Green Fair was on at the same time in the Town Hall, and SRL ensured a presence there by taking a stand, recruiting a good number of new members and collecting further signatures for the petition.
